Unapproved peptides have not undergone Therapeutic Goods Administration review for safety or effectiveness. Officials from both agencies stated they have issued guidance on telehealth and compounding practices.
Samaras reviewed the treatment plan and noted that follow-up blood testing was scheduled after one month, before growth-hormone-related peptides reach peak effect. She also flagged risks including fluid retention, glucose changes, and potential cancer promotion.
AHPRA chief executive Justin Untersteiner said the regulator is concerned that some practitioners may place profits ahead of patients when following health trends. The clinic stated its website did not advertise specific medicines and that a consultation did not guarantee a prescription.
