On the same day as the Guyaku attack, gunmen raided an orphanage at the Dahallukitab Group of Schools in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, Nigeria, abducting 23 pupils.

Fifteen of the abducted pupils were rescued, with intensive operations underway to secure the safe return of the remaining eight and apprehend the perpetrators.
