Bahrain Says Air Defences Intercepted Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks

Bahrain’s military said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed several Iranian missile and drone attacks early Monday. The statement accused Tehran of systematically targeting civilians and private property. All military units were placed on high alert, and the public was warned not to approach suspicious debris.

Iranian state television reported that Revolutionary Guard naval forces fired warning shots at two ships attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz illegally. A correspondent near the strait said the vessels were targeted and stopped. The waterway carries about one-fifth of the world’s energy resources. Iranian officials have previously described closures of the strait as defensive measures.

Yemen’s defence minister, Taher al-Aqili, said his government would respond appropriately to what it called a breach of Yemeni airspace by Iran and the Houthi group. A statement from the Presidential Leadership Council accused the Houthis of disregarding state institutions.

Israeli forces continued artillery fire in southern Lebanon near Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Tebnit. The Lebanese Health Ministry has recorded more than 4,300 deaths since March 2.
