The Baltimore Ravens selected Olaivavega Ioane with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, ESPN reported. Ioane became the second guard taken by the Ravens in the first round. Ioane participated in a pro day at Penn State where offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford held a blocking bag during drills.
Ioane drove Ledford several yards and nearly put him on his back. Ledford later advocated for the Ravens to draft Ioane with their top selection. The Ravens believe Ioane's toughness and grit can become the foundation for their new-look offensive line, according to team statements.
The unit allowed quarterback Lamar Jackson to face pressure on 37.1 percent of his dropbacks last season, the worst rate of his eight-year career. Middle linebacker Roquan Smith said physicality is Ioane's thing. Ioane lined up as the starting right guard from the first day of spring practices.
Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle said Ioane feels like a veteran from his communication and relationship with teammates. Ioane's addition upgrades a position where Daniel Faalele posted a 70.8 percent run block win rate and 93 percent pass block win rate over the prior two seasons.
