Barcelona Keeps Julián Álvarez Offer Active Despite Atlético de Madrid’s Stance Against a Sale

Barcelona will keep its offer for Julián Álvarez active for as long as it considers necessary, president Joan Laporta said. Laporta stated that the club will not adjust its position based on what Atlético de Madrid communicates about the player. Atlético has indicated it does not sell Julián Álvarez, Laporta added.

Laporta said Atlético knows Barcelona’s intentions. If Atlético chooses to proceed, Barcelona will be delighted, he stated. Laporta expressed hope that if Atlético finds an alternative, it will consider Barcelona’s bid.

“We will keep this offer firm for as long as we consider. But we will not be at the expense of what Atlético de Madrid can tell us on this issue,” Laporta said.
