BBC announces Australian singer as third Strictly Come Dancing 2026 contestant

The BBC announced on Friday that Delta Goodrem will join the 2026 series of Strictly Come Dancing. The announcement appeared on the show's social media accounts. Goodrem represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with the song Eclipse and finished in fourth place. Her debut album Innocent Eyes sold 4.5 million copies after its 2003 release.
Background on the contestant Goodrem, 41, has sold nine million albums and more than 13 million singles worldwide. She appeared on the Australian soap Neighbours from 2002 to 2003 and later served as a coach on The Voice Australia. She married musician Matthew Copley last year in Malta. Her eighth studio album, Pure, is scheduled for release on November 6.
Series updates The 2026 series will feature a new presenting team of Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and former professional dancer Johannes Radebe. Goodrem joins Lacey Turner and Dani Dyer, who were announced earlier this week. BBC executives had tried to recruit Goodrem for the 2025 series, but negotiations did not succeed.
A source said she decided it was not the right time last year. Goodrem said she had performed on many stages but had never danced on the ballroom floor. She added that she is thrilled to join the show.
