The Beatles will open a museum at 3 Savile Row in London, the location of their final public performance, BBC News reported. The exhibition space, officially titled "The Beatles at 3 Savile Row," is scheduled to launch in 2027 and is described by the band as the first official destination for their fans in central London.

Fans can register for tickets on the band's website from today. The seven-floor venue will recreate the basement recording studio and allow visitors to relive the rooftop concert on the exact spot where it occurred in January 1969. A shop selling licensed Beatles products will also be included.

The rooftop concert lasted 42 minutes on a cold January lunchtime in 1969. The band performed 10 songs, including Don't Let Me Down, I've Got A Feeling and two versions of Get Back, before police stopped the performance following complaints from local tenants.

The event was the last time the band performed live in public.

The building has housed notable residents before the Beatles, including a British general involved in the War of 1812 and the companion of Admiral Nelson. The band continued using it as the base for their company Apple Corps after breaking up in 1970.

One member later referenced the fans who gathered outside in a solo song. The band sold the property in 1976. It was later used as a retail store. The company behind the new museum has not released all details of the exhibition, but one member outlined the visitor flow from ground-floor memorabilia displays up through the building to the rooftop.

One member told the BBC he supported the project because visitors currently gather at Abbey Road but cannot enter the studio, causing traffic disruptions. "So I thought this was a terrific idea," he said. Another member described a recent visit to the property as "like coming home" in a statement.

The first member called the project "such a trip" and noted the many memories associated with the building and rooftop. "The team have put together some really impressive plans and I'm excited for people to see it when it's ready," he added. The museum will be officially licensed by the band, unlike existing Beatles attractions in Liverpool.

Meanwhile, both surviving members have new music releases. One released his 22nd album last month, which reached number two on the UK country music charts. The other's new album is set for release at the end of May.
