President Romuald Wadagni of Benin arrived in Addis Ababa in the early hours of 13 July 2026 for an official working visit, AllAfrica reported. The visit is intended to strengthen bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Benin. Wadagni was welcomed at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport by Ethiopia's Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Truneh and other senior government officials.
Truneh posted on social media that it was a distinct honor to receive the Beninese leader. Truneh described Ethiopia as the cradle of humanity and a land of ancient civilizations whose history embodies resilience, dignity, and renewal.
