Bill Gates Testifies Before House Committee on Epstein Ties
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates told the House Oversight Committee he met Jeffrey Epstein five times between 2011 and 2012 and called the meetings a grave error in judgment. Gates said he never witnessed criminal conduct by Epstein and supports release of all Epstein files.
South China Morning PostMicrosoft co-founder Bill Gates testified in a closed-door session before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday about his past meetings with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Gates said in prepared remarks that he met Epstein in 2011 while seeking funding for global health work. He stated the two held three meetings that year and two more in 2012, with contact ending in December 2014.
Gates told lawmakers he never visited Epstein's island, ranch, or Florida home. He added that he never witnessed or had any indication Epstein was engaged in ongoing criminal conduct. Gates said meeting Epstein was a grave error in judgment that put his philanthropic work at risk.

The representative added that no one is accusing Gates of wrongdoing.
Earlier sessions included former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Victoria's Secret CEO Les Wexner. The committee plans to interview investment banker Leon Black, Clinton aide Doug Band, and former Barclays CEO Jes Staley in coming weeks.
