Blackstone Parmesan Ranch Seasoning Recalled Over Salmonella Risk
Blackstone Products is recalling certain lots of its Parmesan Ranch seasoning sold at Walmart after the product was made with recalled dry milk powder. No illnesses have been reported. Consumers are advised to discard affected packages.
Los Angeles TimesBlackstone Products of Providence, Utah is recalling specific lots of Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning sold at Walmart stores and on the Blackstone Products website. The recall stems from California Dairies, Inc. S. Food and Drug Administration news release.
The affected products carry sell-by dates of July 2, 2027; August 5, 2027; and August 12, 2027. Lot codes appear on the bottom of each package. No illnesses linked to the recalled seasoning have been reported.
Salmonella infection can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Young children, elderly people, and individuals with weakened immune systems face higher risk of severe outcomes including arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.
35 million infections, 26,500 hospitalizations, and 420 deaths in the United States each year. People who purchased the product should not eat it and should dispose of it immediately.
