Actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have reached a settlement in their legal dispute stemming from the 2024 film 'It Ends With Us.' Lively had accused Baldoni of sexual harassment on set and orchestrating a smear campaign, claims he denied. The agreement avoids a trial set for later this month and includes a joint statement emphasizing support for domestic violence survivors.
BbcBlake Lively and Justin Baldoni reached a settlement in the lawsuit the actress filed against the actor and director in December 2024. The agreement was announced on Monday, weeks before a trial that had been scheduled to begin on May 18. A joint statement issued by both parties said they “are settling this matter” and emphasized shared goals around domestic violence awareness.
The statement, released in full by the New York Post, reads in part: “Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind.” It continues: “We acknowledge the challenges during the making of the movie and commit to productive workplaces free of any improprieties.” The statement describes the film as “a source of pride for those involved” and notes that “concerns raised by Blake about the filmmaking process were recognized as deserving to be heard.”
U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed the majority of Lively’s claims last month. The judge had previously thrown out Baldoni’s countersuit, which accused Lively and others of defamation and civil extortion, in June 2025. The settlement resolves the remaining claims against Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios.
Lively’s original complaint accused Baldoni of sexual harassment on set and alleged that he and others conspired to damage her reputation. Baldoni has denied the allegations. Court records show that several of Lively’s core accusations did not survive pretrial motions. No trial testimony or further evidentiary hearings will occur.
The joint statement does not assign fault or admit wrongdoing by either party. It expresses hope for “closure” and “a respectful online environment moving forward.” Neither side disclosed financial terms of the settlement.
