The Toronto Blue Jays signed veteran outfielder Daz Cameron to bolster organizational depth amid several key injuries. The 29-year-old right-handed hitter had been released by the Milwaukee Brewers last year and signed with the Doosan Bears in the Korea Baseball Organization.
While with the Bears, Cameron hit .287/.360/.473 with nine home runs and 43 RBIs, posting a 121 wRC+. He also stole nine bases in nine attempts, walked 9.6 percent of the time, and struck out at a 16.9 percent rate.
The Blue Jays described the signing as a low-risk move that adds experienced depth at the Triple-A level and could lead to a major league opportunity if injuries create openings.
