Blue Owl Saw $4.7 Billion in Redemption Requests but Shares Rose 10 Percent

Investors requested $4.7 billion in redemptions from two Blue Owl funds in the most recent quarter, Semafor reported. The requests included $3.6 billion, or 19 percent of assets, from the firm's flagship fund and $1. Blue Owl honored 5 percent of all withdrawal requests during the period.
Redemption requests fell from 22 percent at the flagship fund and 40 percent at the software fund in the previous quarter. The percentages remained higher than those recorded at peer funds managed by Apollo and KKR. Redemptions at OTIC came largely from Asian family offices, according to a person familiar with the fund.
Blue Owl shares opened 10 percent higher on Thursday, July 2, 2026. None of the firm's software loans entered delinquent status during the quarter, and 0.2 percent of OTIC's loan book was categorized as unlikely to be fully repaid, the firm said. Blue Owl markets its funds heavily to individual investors.
Blue Owl was formed by veterans of KKR, Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, and Neuberger Berman. The question for the firm is whether it can continue to grow if investor concerns ease, Semafor reported.
