The St. Louis Blues signed forward Connor McMichael to a six-year, $40.5 million contract on Thursday. General manager Alex Steen announced the agreement. McMichael will carry a $6.75 million annual cap hit through the 2031-32 NHL season.
The new deal more than triples McMichael’s prior salary.
He earned $2.1 million in each of the past two seasons. McMichael, 25, joined the Blues last month as part of the return in the Jordan Kyrou trade with the Washington Capitals. The Blues also received a first-round pick and prospect Milton Gastrin in that deal.
McMichael set career highs last season with 32 assists and 14 goals in 78 games. He has recorded 162 points in 333 regular-season and playoff games since debuting in 2021. The forward was selected 25th overall by the Capitals in the 2019 draft.
