BMW Unveils All-Electric iX5 Priced from $81,250 with 435-Mile Range

BMW has officially unveiled the all-electric iX5. @SawyerMerritt reported the details directly from the company announcement. The iX5 starts at $81,250 and offers an EPA-estimated range of 435 miles from its 144 kWh battery.
It produces 570 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, and uses an 800-volt architecture that supports a peak charging speed of 460 kW. A 10 to 80 percent charge takes 22 minutes. The vehicle weighs 6,228 pounds and measures 196.6 inches long with a drag coefficient of 0.28 Cd.
It includes adaptive suspension, optional rear-wheel steering, and a towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds. Bidirectional charging supports Vehicle-to-Load, Vehicle-to-Home, and Vehicle-to-Grid functions. Driver assistance systems provide SAE Level 2 capability, including Motorway Assistant for hands-free highway driving from entry to exit and City Assistant for address-to-address urban assistance.
Interior features include a Panoramic Vision display across the base of the windshield, a 17.9-inch center screen, an optional 14.6-inch passenger display, and an integrated head-up display. Seats are heated, ventilated, and massaging. The iX5 uses sixth-generation cylindrical battery cells that deliver 20 percent higher energy density than prior BMW packs, along with improved charging efficiency and thermal management.
Deliveries start in early 2027.
