Boebert Endorses Massie in Kentucky Primary
Rep. Lauren Boebert will campaign for Rep. Thomas Massie in Kentucky this weekend ahead of his May 19 primary against a challenger endorsed by President Donald Trump. Boebert publicly supported Massie while also praising Trump in a social media statement. The race has drawn heavy spending from groups aligned with the president and the Israel lobby.

Republican Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert will campaign for Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie in two events Friday afternoon in Shelby County and Oldham County, Kentucky. Boebert is one of only a few GOP lawmakers who have publicly backed Massie over the Trump-endorsed challenger in the May 19 primary.
Boebert posted on X on Friday that she supports both men. "Below is my friend Thomas Massie. He loves America and is fighting to save it," Boebert said. "Also below is my friend and President, Donald Trump. He’s put his life on the line to save this great country.

" — Lauren Boebert on X, May 15, 2026 (Daily Caller) President Donald Trump launched an effort to unseat Massie by endorsing Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein and criticizing the incumbent over his opposition to military strikes on Iran, a major spending bill and efforts to release Jeffrey Epstein files.
Trump called Massie a "complete and total disaster" at a March rally in Hebron, Kentucky, and a "moron" at the National Prayer Breakfast in February. Massie voted against a major spending bill in June 2025, citing concerns about its effect on the national debt.
He has also argued that Trump’s strikes against Iran in June 2025 were unconstitutional and stated on May 4 that Israel “forced our hand and dragged us” into the war. The primary has become the most expensive in U.S. House history with more than $25 million spent on advertisements.
The Israel lobby and groups aligned with the president have spent millions backing the challenger, including between $5.7 million and $9.8 million from AIPAC and the Republican Jewish Coalition. Massie has served in Congress for over a decade and has frequently broken with Trump and GOP leadership on spending, foreign policy and procedural votes.
Boebert backed a discharge petition led by Massie and a Democratic California representative to release Epstein files. Trump pressured her to remove her name, but her signature remained. She has now chosen to appear with Massie days before the primary despite the White House-backed effort against him.
