Brandi Glanville said on the May 22 episode of her "Brandi Unfiltered" podcast that she suspects she has ringworm in her throat after oral sex. She asked guest Lisa Ann whether she had heard of sexually transmitted ringworm and stated she feels she has the infection in her throat.

Ringworm is a fungal infection that affects hair, skin or nails and can spread through skin-to-skin or sexual contact, according to the CDC.

Ann, identified in the report as an author and retired adult film performer, said most people do not know what to look for and described industry practices of inspecting performers for skin patches under good lighting. Glanville said she believes she contracted the infection from dating someone in the adult film industry.

She stated the partner avoided other forms of sex to prevent pregnancy. She added that after doctors ruled out other common sexually transmitted diseases, she researched additional possibilities and learned the infection can spread to the ears and mouth.

Glanville has experienced other health problems in recent months. In February she said doctors determined that a ruptured breast implant caused years of facial paralysis and led to tooth loss, and she reported spending $200,000 on diagnosis and treatment. Last month she said she sought urgent care after a garlic clove became lodged in her ear while attempting to relieve congestion from a cold.
