The Atlanta Braves placed left-hander Martín Pérez on the 15-day injured list on Monday with a left forearm contusion. Pérez was struck by a line drive from Juan Soto during Sunday's 10-9 loss to the New York Mets and left the game. Manager Walt Weiss said afterward that X-rays were negative.
Pérez allowed six hits and five runs, four earned, over 4 1/3 innings and holds a 3.54 ERA across 18 games this season. The Braves also designated right-hander Carlos Carrasco for assignment after he allowed five runs on five hits in two innings on Sunday.
