Brighton will face Manchester City in the Women's FA Cup final on Sunday at Wembley with kickoff at 15:00 BST. Dario Vidosic, 39, will lead the team out with his family in attendance. Dario Vidosic joined Brighton in 2024 from Melbourne City.

His father, Rado Vidosic, arrived at the club one year before his death and served as head of women's and girls' coaching. Rado Vidosic passed away in January at the age of 64 following a battle with cancer. Dario Vidosic missed a month of the Women's Super League campaign on compassionate leave.

He returned in February, after which Brighton climbed to seventh place in the league and reached their first FA Cup final. Dario Vidosic was born in Croatia when it was part of Yugoslavia. He moved to Australia one year after his birth when Rado played for Queensland Lions.

He became a player and represented Australia before moving into coaching. Dario Vidosic asked to join Rado as an assistant at Melbourne City. In 2022, Rado moved to the men's side at Melbourne City and Dario took charge of the women's team.

Last month, Brighton released plans for Europe's first purpose-built women's football stadium at a cost of £75-80m. Brighton signed England's Euro 2022 winner Fran Kirby, Nigeria keeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and Japan striker Kiko Seike. Fran Kirby is 32 years old and won the FA Cup five times at Chelsea.

Madison Haley scored in Brighton's dramatic 3-2 win over Liverpool in the semi-finals. "I carry dad every single day with me into every game and I think about what he would tell me and what I've learned from reading back through his notes from when he was a coach," Dario Vidosic said. "I'm pretty sure there will be no-one else prouder than Rado of Dario for getting there.
