British Man Convicted of Sexually Abusing and Murdering Adopted 13-Month-Old
Jamie Varley, 37, was convicted of sexually abusing and murdering Preston Davey. His partner was also convicted in connection with the death.

The boy's hair was dry and he was still wearing his nappy at the time of death. Varley took one year off work to adopt Preston Davey and killed him within four months of the adoption. Preston Davey was a happy, healthy 9-month-old boy when handed over for adoption.
The adoption of Preston Davey was approved by the state. Preston Davey was taken to hospital three times with suspicious bruising and seen by social workers prior to his death. John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, was convicted of sexual assault and allowing the death of a child.
