British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced his resignation on Monday. Andy Burnham was sworn in as a Member of Parliament shortly after the announcement.
The Washington Examiner reported that U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking from the Oval Office, said Starmer had been "messing up energy" by relying on wind power instead of drilling in the North Sea. Trump also stated that the United Kingdom had declined to support U.S. military action in the Iran conflict.

The Washington Examiner further reported that Trump posted on Truth Social before the resignation announcement that Starmer had "failed badly on two very important subjects—IMMIGRATION AND ENERGY."
