The Broncos have gone 32-19 during the coach's three seasons, with win totals rising each year. The owner said in a statement that the coach has led an impressive turnaround and instilled a winning culture.

The Broncos traded a 2023 first-round pick and a 2024 second-round pick to the New Orleans Saints in 2023 to acquire the coach. They received a 2024 third-round pick in return. The coach had previously led the Saints to a 152-89 record and their only Super Bowl title after the 2009 season. He was named NFL Coach of the Year in 2006.
