Bruno Mars Opens Six-Night Wembley Run With 75,000 Fans

Bruno Mars performed at Wembley Stadium on July 18, opening a six-night residency eight years after his last UK concert. BBC News reported that the show drew 75,000 attendees who filled the venue for a two-hour, 15-minute set. Mars began with a pre-recorded video of himself praying in a church before emerging on stage beneath stained-glass visuals in a red suit adorned with roses.

He opened the set with Risk It All from his album The Romantic and later performed Cha Cha while seated behind bright red congas. He wore an England football scarf, a Union Jack bucket hat, and held a Paddington Bear during the concert. Paak joined Mars for a four-song Silk Sonic segment that included tightly choreographed Motown-inspired dance routines and playful banter in attempted British accents.

Mars also performed Die With a Smile with Lady Gaga during the ballad portion. Mars asked for the stadium lights to be raised during Just the Way You Are so he could see the crowd. The concert closed with Uptown Funk accompanied by fireworks and gold confetti, followed by the ballad Dance With Me.

Paul, 58, and his children Alex, 23, and Thomas, 20, traveled from Hertfordshire to attend. BBC News reported that Mars wore a cape emblazoned with the words "The Romantic" during the performance.
