He had joined the Cubs after the Philadelphia Phillies designated him for assignment following one scoreless outing of two innings. The Brewers added Wilson as they address pitching injuries. Brandon Woodruff was diagnosed with a new right shoulder injury on July 8, 2026, and left-handed starter Kyle Harrison exited his most recent start with elbow soreness, Forbes reported.
Wilson appeared in 87 games for the Brewers from 2023 to 2024. He went 6-0 with a 2.58 ERA in 76 2/3 innings out of the bullpen in 2023. He has nine seasons of major-league experience. Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer has overseen roster moves during a stretch of injuries to starters and relievers.
