The certification marks a rapid ascent for the album, which earned gold status in France just six days after its release in March 2026. That platinum recognition arrived one month later, bringing BTS's total to four albums certified platinum in the country, according to BigHit Music.
In Japan, 'Arirang' secured triple platinum certification after selling more than 750,000 units as of March 2026. Yonhap reported these achievements highlight the album's strong international performance. 'Arirang' stands as BTS's fifth studio album and the first release following a four-year hiatus driven by the members' mandatory military service.
The 14-track project, led by the single 'Swim,' spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. This run made 'Arirang' the first album by a K-pop act to hold the top spot on the Billboard 200 for three weeks.
Yonhap noted the album's historic chart performance amid the band's return to music production.
