Bulgaria Wins Eurovision 2026 With Surprise Victory

Hundreds of fans waving Bulgarian flags greeted Dara at Sofia airport on Sunday. She performed her winning song for the crowd and spoke about the importance of the victory for young people. The song Bangaranga became the first entry in nearly ten years to win both the jury and public votes.
Dara said the track represents choosing love over fear. She added that she aimed to deliver something fresh and unexpected to the audience.
Bulgarian football legend Hristo Stoichkov supported Dara's campaign and urged Bulgarians abroad to vote. Veteran pop star Lili Ivanova posted congratulations on social media. A 72-year-old fan named Boyko Karakolev said the win would give Bulgaria more visibility. Businessman Vesselin Despodov noted that the country would now be known for more than past exports.
Booking agencies reported increased reservations for Sofia next May. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said the country looks forward to welcoming Europe and the world for Eurovision 2027.
