Bulk Carrier Struck by Unknown Projectile off Qatar Coast
A commercial bulk carrier was hit 23 nautical miles northeast of Doha on May 10, 2026, causing a small fire that the crew extinguished. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre reported no casualties or environmental damage and has not identified the source of the projectile.

No casualties were reported from the strike on the commercial ship sailing in waters northeast of Qatar. No environmental damage was reported either.
The UKMTO has not yet identified the source of the projectile. Authorities are continuing to monitor the incident. The UKMTO has reported no incidents in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman in the last 24 hours.
