Craig Bellamy is in advanced talks with Burnley over becoming the club's new head coach ahead of next season, The BBC reported. Burnley have approached the Football Association of Wales about appointing Bellamy as Scott Parker's successor. The 46-year-old is now in contract talks with the Championship side, though a final agreement has not yet been reached.
Talks accelerated in the last 48 hours with significant progress made, The BBC reported. BBC Sport revealed on 30 April that Bellamy was a leading contender to replace Parker. Bellamy was appointed Wales manager in 2024.
Wales lost to Bosnia and Herzegovina in a penalty shoot-out in Cardiff and failed to reach the 2026 World Cup. Any move would return Bellamy to Turf Moor, where he previously worked under Vincent Kompany as assistant manager before Kompany moved to Bayern Munich. Bellamy was briefly named acting head coach at Burnley after Kompany's departure but left shortly afterwards.
Burnley are willing to meet the compensation clause in Bellamy's contract with the FAW. " He added: "Links? I understand it but I don't look too far.
