Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark said she missed the team's game earlier this week because of back soreness and a lack of full confidence in her body. Clark told reporters on Friday that several soft-tissue injuries during the 2025 season created a mental hurdle as she returned to play. She stated she would sit out games unless she felt 100 percent confident in her physical readiness.
Clark played the following game against the Golden State Valkyries and finished with a team-high 22 points and nine rebounds in a 90-82 victory. The Fever improved to a 4-2 record after the win. The Fever defeated the Portland Fire during Clark's absence earlier in the week.
