Caitlin Clark will not play in the Indiana Fever's game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday because of a back injury. Coach Stephanie White said Friday that Clark left Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Mercury in the second half with back issues. The injury was first listed in May.
White stated there is no indication of when Clark will return. The Fever have a week off after Saturday's game. White said that time will be used to provide Clark treatment and help her return to the floor.
Clark has played 17 games this season while averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists, 4.0 rebounds and shooting 43.0 percent from the field. The Fever hold a 10-8 record. The WNBA adjusted a call from the Wednesday game and issued Alyssa Thomas a Flagrant Foul 2, a one-game suspension and a $1,000 fine for making contact with her fist to Clark's throat area.
Clark was the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft out of Iowa and played only 13 games in the 2025 season due to quad and groin injuries.
