Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has been selected as the cover athlete for Madden NFL 27. He is the first Bears player to appear on the cover of the video game series. Williams completed 1 percent of his passes for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2025.

Those passing yards set a Chicago Bears single-season franchise record. The Bears ranked sixth in total offense in 2025, their highest finish since 1983, according to CBS Sports Research. The team improved from a 5-12 record in 2024 to 11-6 in 2025 under new head coach Ben Johnson.
Chicago clinched the NFC North for the first time since 2018 and won its first playoff game since 2010. That playoff victory came against the Green Bay Packers. The Bears overcame an 18-point deficit to win 31-27, the largest playoff comeback in franchise history.
Williams threw for 361 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the game. Both touchdown passes and 184 of his passing yards came in the fourth quarter, the most fourth-quarter playoff passing yards since Tom Brady in Super Bowl LI. The Bears recorded a second comeback win over the Packers in less than a month during the 2025 season.
Chicago finished with seven wins when trailing in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter, including playoffs, setting an NFL record. The team also won three games when down double digits in the final five minutes; the rest of the NFL combined for three such wins.
In the divisional-round game against the Los Angeles Rams, Williams threw a game-tying touchdown pass to Cole Kmet on fourth-and-4 with 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
