Canada Shifts Aluminum Exports to Europe After U.S. Tariff

Canadian aluminum producers are sending more metal to Europe after the United States imposed a 50 percent tariff on the metal last year. U.S. imports in the first quarter of 2026, down from 63 percent in the same period of 2025. Duty-paid premiums in Europe reached a record $621 per metric ton earlier this month, up 73 percent since the start of the Iran war. S.
