Canadiens Captain Wins Selke Trophy, Teammate Takes Lady Byng

Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki received the Frank J. Selke Trophy for the NHL's best two-way forward. The league announced the result Friday. Suzuki collected 151 first-place votes out of 198 ballots cast by members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

He finished among the top five vote-getters on 191 ballots. The award marks the third time a Canadiens player has won the Selke, joining Guy Carbonneau and Bob Gainey.

Caufield earns Lady Byng Cole Caufield captured the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, given for sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability. He received 45 first-place votes. Caufield recorded 51 goals and 88 points while playing 81 of 82 games and averaging more than 18 minutes per game.

He accumulated 14 penalty minutes during the season. Los Angeles Kings captain Anze Kopitar finished second with 38 first-place votes in his final season before retiring. Ottawa Senators defenseman Jake Sanderson placed third with 28 first-place votes.

Caufield became the third Canadiens player to win the Lady Byng, following Mats Naslund and Toe Blake.
