Cardinals score twice on errors to rally past Reds 5-3
Bryan Torres homered and Jordan Walker hit an RBI double as the St. Louis Cardinals scored two unearned runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 on Sunday. The win completed a three-game series sweep for St. Louis.

Scoring sequence Walker drove in the Cardinals' first run with a single in the fifth inning. Torres followed with his second career home run, putting St. Louis ahead 3-2. McLain and Tyler Stephenson hit consecutive solo home runs in the third inning to give Cincinnati a 2-0 lead. McLain added another homer in the seventh to tie the game at 3-3.
Pitching and team records Ryne Stanek recorded the final two outs of the eighth inning. Riley O'Brien pitched a scoreless ninth for his 17th save. Reds reliever Sam Moll allowed two runs without recording an out and Chris Paddack surrendered his first blown save of the season.
Rhett Lowder made his first start after returning from the injured list, walking five and striking out four over three innings. The Reds have lost eight of their last 10 games and are 2-13 in the NL Central.
