The plan includes a 15-story, 200-foot City Hall, a 124,000-square-foot performing arts center with a 2,000-seat main theater and a 150-seat venue, and 5,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.
Walkways lined with shops and eateries would converge at a central gathering space called Jewel Plaza.
The project also includes a four-story mixed-use residential building with 140 apartments and 10,000 square feet of commercial space. A four-level parking garage over a new 6,000-square-foot bus depot would provide space for about 640 cars.
Developers may choose to build a 420-room hotel or a 130,000-square-foot immersive entertainment space with museums and dining on the eastern side of the site. City officials have not announced a construction timeline and are now searching for developers to carry out the project.
