CBC Sports Begins Commonwealth Games Coverage Thursday from Glasgow
CBC Sports will open its broadcast of the Commonwealth Games on Thursday with the live opening ceremony from Glasgow. The network plans more than 1,200 hours of coverage across television and digital platforms during the 10-day event.

CBC Sports will begin its coverage of the Commonwealth Games on Thursday with the opening ceremony live from Glasgow. The broadcast starts at 2:30 p.m. ET on CBC and CBC Gem, hosted by Andi Petrillo alongside Nathan Clement.
The network will deliver more than 1,200 hours of coverage across the 10-day event running from July 23 to Aug. 2. Daily programming will feature live swimming and athletics finals along with artistic gymnastics, bowls, judo, track cycling and weightlifting.
Petrillo will be joined in studio by Olympic swimming medallist Brittany MacLean Campbell, two-time Olympian Perdita Felicien and two-time Olympic champion Donovan Bailey. Rob Snoek and Byron MacDonald will handle swimming commentary, while Mark Lee and Michael Smith will cover athletics. Reporters Devin Heroux and Marissa Papaconstantinou will conduct athlete interviews from Glasgow.
Fans can follow events on CBCSports.ca, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, where daily digital features will highlight medal moments and upcoming events. CBC Sports will also introduce live story page coverage for the Games. The event includes athletes from 74 nations and territories.
Canada has sent a team of more than 148 athletes across nine sports, including a record 34 Para athletes, and enters the competition aiming for a top-three finish in the medal standings.
