U.S. soccer fans feel positive about the United States hosting the World Cup, including more than half who say they are excited, according to a CBS News/YouGov poll.

U.S. Role as host generates comparatively less enthusiasm among people who are not soccer fans. Relatively few non-fans said the hosting arrangement makes them more interested in the tournament. More than a quarter of Americans described themselves as either a big fan or a casual fan of professional soccer.
