CDC to Add Ebola Screening at JFK Airport Starting May 28
The agency will begin enhanced public health entry screening for Ebola at John F. Kennedy International Airport after 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time on May 28, 2026. Screening already occurs at three other U.S. airports.

Ebola is already in place at Washington Dulles International Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport. JFK previously conducted similar screening and maintains established procedures for the process.
Public health entry screening forms one part of a layered approach that also includes overseas exit screening, airline illness reporting, and post-arrival monitoring.
