Charles Barkley holds 7,500-1 odds to win the 2026 American Century Championship, the longest of any entrant, according to Caesars Sportsbook. He carried identical odds last year. Mardy Fish and Joe Pavelski are co-favorites at 3-1.
Stephen Curry and John Smoltz follow at 7-2. The tournament runs at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Barkley finished 58th in 2024 and 69th in 2025. Caesars sets his over/under finish at 63.5.
Anthony Salleroli, the lead golf trader at Caesars Sportsbook, said the bulk of bets on Barkley are for him to finish worse than 63rd. Salleroli also said more wagers have been placed on Curry to win than on any other player. Barkley nevertheless represents the sportsbook's largest liability because of the volume of action at his long odds.
John Smoltz told reporters that Barkley has lost weight and looks great. Smoltz added that he played golf with Barkley 20 years earlier and noted the former player's motivation to improve each season. ESPN reported the details on July 9, 2026.
