Forward Chase Stillman signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, ESPN reported. The agreement carries a value of $850,000 at the NHL level if Stillman secures a roster spot. Stillman, 23, a St.
Louis native, was not extended a qualifying offer by the Vancouver Canucks last month. He was chosen in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils and has appeared only in the AHL, where he posted 18 goals and 40 points across 105 games with affiliates of the Devils, Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins.
Stillman is the son of Cory Stillman, a two-time Stanley Cup champion who appeared in more than 1,000 NHL games.
