The seller then posed the opposite question to ChatGPT and received an answer that the price was too low.
The video accumulated three million views within three hours, after which both parties returned to the table and completed the sale. The broker stated that AI models contain historical internet data but lack information on current off-market conditions and local market dynamics.
He added that the completed transaction now serves as an example of a successful outcome rather than a failed one. The episode occurred during a period when real estate professionals have discussed whether AI tools will replace or supplement traditional brokerage services.
One academic previously told Fortune that agents function less as information gatekeepers than in earlier decades because listing data is now widely available online.
