Chicago Cubs Beat Minnesota Twins 6-2

The Chicago Cubs defeated the Minnesota Twins 6-2 on Saturday at Wrigley Field. Nico Hoerner collected four hits to tie a career high, and Matthew Boyd allowed three hits and one run over six innings to record his fourth consecutive win. Michael Busch hit a solo home run in the first inning.

Miguel Amaya drove in two runs, and Pedro Ramirez added an RBI single. Hoerner also drove in a run and scored once.

Clemens hit two solo home runs for the Twins.

Their three-game winning streak ended with the loss. Taj Bradley allowed five runs on seven hits in five innings. Boyd struck out four batters and walked one in his fifth start since returning from knee surgery. Jacob Webb pitched the ninth inning and recorded the final out after a double play.

Before the game, the Cubs dedicated a 31-foot-wide Champions Gate on the west side of Wrigley Field. The Twins will start Zebby Matthews against Shota Imanaga on Sunday.
