Background on the Signing The Chiefs drafted Sneed in the fourth round in 2020.
They traded him to the Tennessee Titans in 2024 after placing the franchise tag on him. The Titans released Sneed on March 13 of this year.
Sneed, 29, appeared in 12 games over two seasons with Tennessee. He started the 2025 season on the physically unable to perform list after a knee procedure and a quad injury. He played seven games last season, recording 26 tackles and three passes defended, before suffering another quad injury in Week 7. Sneed finished his six NFL seasons with 10 interceptions, 43 passes defended and 352 tackles.
A misdemeanor charge against Sneed was dropped in May, his attorney announced.
The Chiefs traded Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams this offseason. Fellow 2025 starter Jaylen Watson also left in free agency for the Rams. The team traded up in the 2026 draft to select Mansoor Delane and signed Kader Kohou and Kaiir Elam in free agency.
