Chili's social media post on fast-food prices reaches 5.8 million views

A Chili's Grill & Bar account on X replied to a July 6 post showing an $18.19 Burger King meal that included fries and a drink. The account wrote that the price illustrated why customers should consider full-service restaurants instead. The Chili's post stated that a Big Crispy Chicken Sandwich 3 for Me with fries, bottomless chips and salsa, and an unlimited drink costs $10.99 at the chain.

It has been viewed more than 5.8 million times.

Price trends A McDonald's company fact sheet reported that the average cost of one menu item has risen about 40 percent since 2019. Executives at the chain told The Los Angeles Times last year that higher costs for restaurant essentials, including beef, contributed to the increases.

The Chili's account responded to several comments on its post, including one user who referenced past criticism of the chain. A spokesperson replied that all comments from the early 2000s were forgiven. The Independent has contacted Burger King for comment.
