China Refining Falls to Four-Year Low in May as Imports Drop and Stocks Are Drawn Down

China’s crude oil processing totaled 54 million tonnes in May, the slowest pace in nearly four years, @JKempEnergy reported. Imports fell to 33 million tonnes, down from 38 million tonnes in April and 50 million tonnes in March. The drop in imports followed disruption of flows through the Strait of Hormuz.
As a result, roughly 2 million tonnes, equal to 15 million barrels, were drawn from inventories.
