"I was thrilled when I was offered the part, and I wanted to make her into a character that is not cliche," she stated. She added that she suggested ideas to director Lee Cheol-ha to make Anya playful and witty. Director Lee Cheol-ha said Choi was at the top of his list for the role.
He noted the special chemistry between Choi and Uhm Jung-hwa, who share a background as singers. Uhm Jung-hwa, reprising her role as former secret agent Mi-young, said she enjoyed the increased number of action scenes. "I was excited there were more action scenes in the sequel," she stated.
"All the actors came together as one for every action scene. I felt a deep sense of fulfillment. " Park Sung-woong expressed happiness at the reunion of the original cast and joked about ideas for a third film.
Bae Jung-nam said it was his first sequel and that everything felt comfortable. He suggested the next installment could be set abroad on a train such as the Eurostar. The sequel is set aboard a cruise ship and features returning cast members including Uhm Jung-hwa, Park Sung-woong, Lee Sang-yoon and Bae Jung-nam, along with new additions Ryeoun and Choi Jin-joo.
It is scheduled for release on August 12.
