The ninth edition of the Choose France summit will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026 at the Château de Versailles. President Emmanuel Macron will attend along with several government ministers and a host of top executives from national and international corporations. The summit aims to promote France's economic appeal.

The event is preceded from Friday to Sunday by a nationwide "open factories" initiative. The value of investment projects presented at the summit is set to reach a record high, according to the Elysée. The gathering will be the last international edition of Choose France during Emmanuel Macron's two five-year terms.

A final edition focused solely on French companies is scheduled for the fall in Paris. The Lyon-based start-up Carbon was invited to the summit in 2023, 2024, and 2025 but will not attend this year. Carbon announced on May 19, 2026 that it was abandoning its plan for a giant solar panel factory in Fos-sur-Mer in southern France.

The company is in court-ordered liquidation. Carbon management stated that the decision resulted from a lack of sufficient funding, with needs amounting to more than €1 billion. Carbon management also cited a lack of any real willingness on the part of the European Union to develop an industry and domestic market favorable to photovoltaic energy to counter Chinese competition.

The start-up was founded in 2022 and had been highlighted as one of the symbols of France's industrial revival. President Emmanuel Macron and Disney's director general Josh D'Amaro attended the inauguration of the new World of Frozen park at Disneyland Paris on March 27, 2026. The €2 billion investment required for its construction was announced during the 2018 edition of Choose France.
