Christopher Nolan Film Sets AMC First-Day Ticket Sales Record
AMC reported that advance ticket sales for Christopher Nolan's upcoming film exceeded any studio release since 2022. The company also recorded its highest May attendance since 2019.
usmagazine.comAMC said advance ticket sales for Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" reached the highest first-day total for any studio release since 2022. CEO Adam Aron posted on X that the volume caused website and app delays, adding that only three concert films from the company's distribution arm had posted higher first-day numbers since 2022.
IMAX began selling tickets for select screens a year ahead of the July 17 release. A second round of premium large-format tickets went on sale Thursday. The studio released the first trailer in late 2024. It accumulated more than 120 million views in its first day.
A Fandango report released in April found that Gen Z and millennial viewers each attended an average of seven films in 2025. The report attributed the increase to a stronger release slate and demand for shared experiences. AMC stated that more than 25 million people visited its theaters in May, the highest monthly total since 2019.
Aron said the results reflected both established franchises and new titles.
