Civil Aeronautics Board Sets Lower Fuel Surcharge for Early June Flights

The Civil Aeronautics Board lowered the fuel surcharge level for the first half of June, which will affect ticket prices for passengers booking flights next month. In an advisory issued on May 28, the board set the surcharge at level 13 for the period June 1 to 15.

This is down from level 15 that applied from May 16 to 30. A fuel surcharge is an extra fee added to airfares and cargo rates to offset changes in fuel prices.

The surcharge rate has declined since reaching level 19 between April 16 and 30. Current rates remain above levels recorded before the Middle East conflict. For domestic passenger flights, the surcharge will range from 423 to 1,237 pesos. 42 pesos, varying by distance and destination. 39 pesos.
