Cleveland Places DeLauter on Injured List With Fractured Rib
The Guardians recalled outfielder Kahlil Watson after Chase DeLauter suffered a rib fracture. José Ramírez and Angel Martínez also sustained injuries during the same series against Detroit.

Cleveland placed outfielder Chase DeLauter on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday because of a fractured rib on his right side, the team announced. DeLauter was injured on Saturday while colliding with the outfield wall during a 3-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers. Outfielder Kahlil Watson was recalled from Triple-A Columbus to fill DeLauter's roster spot.
370 on-base percentage, 12 home runs, 35 RBIs and 15 steals in 56 games at Columbus. He entered the professional ranks as a Miami Marlins first-round pick in 2021 and has no major-league experience. The same game also sidelined two other Cleveland players.
Third baseman José Ramírez underwent surgery Tuesday to remove the hook of the broken hamate bone in his left hand after hitting a foul pop to Tigers catcher Dillon Dingler. The normal recovery time after hamate-hook surgery is five to seven weeks.
Outfielder Angel Martínez went on the injured list Tuesday with a nondisplaced fracture in his left foot after fouling off a pitch. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Tuesday that the 24-year-old could miss four to six weeks.
